Simple Syrup


What is it? It is wonderful stuff! Amazingly there are quite a few readily available on the market. I find this amazing since it is just about the easiest ting possible to make and has so many uses you'll wonder why you didn't make it sooner.

So how do you make it? Its one to one of water and sugar + flavorings.
1 c water

1 c sugar

Boil clear, and then turn off. Drop in any flavorings you want, such as a cinnamon stick, fresh mint, rosehips, lavender, lemon verbena etc.

Allow to cool, strain out flavorings and then store in a clean glass or plastic container with a lid.
Store in your fridge and use to brush cakes to keep them moist, sweeten nuts before toasting, fruit before drying and use in place of sugar for cold drinks.
