I'm sitting at the corner of Sixth and Market in a corner booth, feeling disappointed and unsatisfied.
I stopped to look at the menu and was lured by the nice man outside. I asked about the corn dog, which I have been strangely craving for a while.
After being assured that it was the best in the City and came w fantastic mustard, I ordered it with the recommended onion rings.
It didn't help that the young lady behind the counter gave lackluster service, at best.
Thank the goddess for beer.
The batter on the dog was thick, had a funky consistency and no flavor at all. The mustard was not a flavor that could be found, battling the batter.
Even at the cheapest stalls I have encountered a corn dog hits my nostalgia button. Oh well. At least the dog itself was pretty good. With yellow mustard.
The onion rings were crisp and lightly battered the way I like, but not much in the way of seasoning.
I realize that Show Dogs is getting write ups left and right, but frankly, I am left unimpressed and with sad taste buds.
My hunt for the City's best corn dog and onion rings continues....
