Sweet Tamales

My former roomate's mother is a wonderful cook. She came over one night and made all sorts of treats while I stood next to her, notebook in hand.

I listened attentively to what she said and took notes. She grew up in Mexico & this was one of her favorite treats as a girl.

5 lb masa
1 can evaporated milk
1 box brown sugar
2 c raisins
1 can crushed pineapple
1 bag of tamale husks, soaked overnight

Place masa in a large bowl with all the other ingrediants (except tamale husks.) Mix together w/clean hands until combined thoroughly.

Decide how much you want to place in each husk. Divide mix, roll into husks and steam 1 1/2-2 hours.
